Ellie in Space

PSA: As someone who made it to the first Starship launch on crutches a month after femur surgery (and still getting an interview with Maye and Kimbal) and who went to all three following launches, including interviewing Elon Musk on the day of the launch on Flight 4, I find it troubling and saddening how many people are attacking me for not seeing Starship in person today.
I’m getting bullied and harassed about this decision.
For what it’s worth, I completely expected the launch to be next month like the FAA said it would be. We didn’t know until a few days ago that this was the plan, and even then, SpaceX didn’t get the launch license until the day before.
So if none of these things did happen, it wouldn’t have made sense to fly home much earlier on a trip that’s been planned since April with my parents who are somewhat elderly and may never be able to travel like this again.
I quit my job to do this, I put everything on the line to cover SpaceX. And I even covered it today from my hotel room in Paris.
I really hope people understand how things actually played out and why I, like many creators, were unable to be there in person.

I remember a long time ago when I stumbled on a youtube video with a slightly nerdy girl sneaking around a starlink ground station, on a unknown channel with very few subscribers. I subscribed and I haven't stopped watching since. You bring a new level of professional reporting to the spacex youtube hemisphere. Just keep doing what you do and enjoy your vacation.

Don't let the haters get you down - I really enjoyed the commentary from you and Joe - great stuff as ever!

WTF! You must not take this personal. You did good as always with your stream. And besides family comes first.

You do a great job. I've had pile on events over the strangest things. It's easy to say "just ignore them", but it's hard to do. Try to remember that the vast majority of us appreciate what you do.

Ellie, with all the fantastic reporting you do and the sacrifices you make YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE EXCUSES. If it was that important to these people they should have been there themselves!. Keep up the good work. Roy Whistle

Incredible... hate coming from people who don't have the guts to achieve what you have achieved. There are tons of channels covering spaceflight, and yours is easily one of my top five. Keep up the great work!

ignore the haters. The people that love your work vastly outnumber the haters.

Of all broadcasts I selected yours because it was one of the most informative and definitely the one that spread the most positive excitement. I don't even know what these people have to complain about. I am just a bit sorry for you that you could not experience it personally, after all the work and effort you already put into that project to share your excitement with us.

Thank you for covering the launch. I couldn’t be there either, but because of you I got to see it on TV. 😁

You are doing great! Taking care of family comes before anything else. The haters have nothing better to do and probably yell at their mother when she is late making their Mac and cheese.

Dude, tell them to STFU. I don't think any of the big space Creators (Tim Dodd, Felix, Angry Guy) I checked in on while trying to figure which stream to watch were on site. They were ALL at their home computers.

Don’t let it get to you Ellie. I find that most people spewing hate online seem to have very little else going on in their sad unproductive lives. Be proud you are doing worthwhile exciting things.

I tuned into your stream to show support and had another stream playing muted on the smart phone. You both did a great job (as always) and we know you will continue to provide us excellent content! I don’t think anyone could have predicted the FAA would give the green light so soon.
