The guy who save many of us (black people in France)in the 80’s and early 90’s cause trust me it wasn’t « cool » (to people) and attractive (to women) to be black in France in those times (everything changed in the mid 90’s thanks to Hip hop Music, MTV and the NBA) ! Unlike you (afro american) we had no figure (black french celebrity) to represent us and each time we watched the news on tv it was all about the famine in Ethiopia (one of the world fastest growing economy today) and there were basically no blacks on french television 🤦🏿Michael Jackson already looked more like an indian than a afro american so Eddy Murphy was the only one to stand out in our eyes and it was his best time as an actor!!!!! To be honest i was a lil child in the 80’s so it didn’t affect me that much but times were much more difficult at the start of my teenage years (11/12 years old) in the early 90’s. so for all these reasons, Eddie will always have my respect and admiration 😉💪
