I've finally gotten enough free time and motivation to get back on the gingery machine shop project. I'm learning a lot about casting aluminum from soda cans.
One... Thats a lot of slag... Like, 2 to 1 ratio by volume. I wonder if I can electrowhine the slag into pure aluminum crystal.
Two, for some reason wood coal seems to naturally make better castings. Maybe its how the fuel interacts with the metal. I just know im having a significantly harder time making the propane furnace crank out a comparatively decent chunk of aluminum loaf.
