We started the Good Food Movement portal on Independence Day 2024 with a mission to educate consumers about the impact of their food choices. In the few months that followed, we covered stories from the margins of the country (such as Kashmir and Nagaland) to the heart of metro cities )such as Bengaluru and Mumbai).
The most talked about topic (no surprise here) on the GFM web portal was Organic Farming. But that's not all - Climate Crisis, Soil Health, Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR), Agrarian Challenges, Water Crisis were all part of the stories we covered.
The month of November was indeed special (and scary) as we focused on the silent pandemic amidst us - Anti Microbial Resistance. With over 15 stories, a documentary film, numerous short videos, and a dedicated sub-section on the web portal, the campaign tried to nudge consumers into making conscious choices. In fact, we took AMR so seriously that we even developed a game.
We've not just been all talk though. We've been on the field trying make a difference. Did you know we've been documenting stories about a tree. Why? Because we believe trees are more than just their economic and ecological value. They mean a lot more to us. If our lives were a theatrical play, trees would be those ever-present background characters. Omnipresent yet often unnoticed until they are gone. We believe acknowledging this aspect of a tree and documenting it can possibly spearhead a new way of tree conservation in the era of social media.
Oh, and then there's our on-going comic series featuring Bhumi and Vaayu. The siblings are currently on vacation at their grandmother's home in Devarakadu and learning A LOT. Their journey will continue in 2025 so now would be the perfect time to catch up on the episodes.
The new year promises to be exciting not just for Bhumi and Vaayu though. There's a lot lined up for you. So please keep showering us with the same amount of love.
