Avery Peck

Hey all! I've got a question for you:

In an effort to make this channel financially viable, and to help me produce regular content, I'm considering starting a Patreon. There would be three tiers to start:

$2 - Red tier: Gain early access to all my videos and an exclusive community to ask questions, suggest ideas for future videos, or just say hi.

$5 - Green tier: All of the tier 1 perks plus exclusive access to all project files for my videos. This would include raw footage, powergrades, and a drp project file so you can practice and experiment with the same material I use. You'll also receive a personal shout-out at the end of all my videos.

$15 - Blue tier: Tier 1 and 2 perks plus access to an exclusive series called "Grade My Stuff". Anyone at this level can submit their material into a pool to be selected and graded by me in a real-time, unedited format. I'll show my full approach, the adjustments I'd make, and answer any questions in a live chat. These videos would happen every two weeks. Note: I can't guarantee that all submissions would be graded.

Would this be something you guys would support or have interest in?

@christophersammut

I just came across your channel today and for the first time after going through quite a few tutorials from other creators, I have understood the power of colour grading and the science behind it. Well done and thank you. I will be happy to subscribe to your patreon, maybe at mid tier but I will.

I think focusing all your time and effort on YouTube is probably a better option. It’s definitely a hassle on YouTube, but it’s very rewarding in the end. You’ll probably make way more money doing YouTube than something like Patreon, and because you’ll make more content, you’ll quickly get better at what you do. YouTube is definitely here to stay, and although sometimes weird/inconsistent , it’s a great platform. I think splitting your work between youtube and patreon, in addition to whatever is going on in your personal life, is going to get you burnt out. Just keep it up man, i love your content

Probably worth noting that even though about half the people said they're not interested in a patreon, a patreon is still a worthwhile thing to have to make the channel financially viable. From what I've seen on other patreons, you might find that those perk prices are actually too low and you'll be reading off way too many names at the end of each video in a few months lol

In my Honest Opinion. I think people aren't interested in a Patreon, based on lack of content. Even though it's high quality and I think your a true Professional in this platform and deserve more for your time. But this is YouTube, and people want consistency. I don't think a video every 3 months or 6 months will warranty people signing up for patreon. Or atleast half of your subs. I been a subscriber for years and honestly forget you still make content.

@riba

The only problem is the price for countries like my, where our currency is not strong. But it's a great idea. Keep going

I love your content. I have seen some colorists hosting private paid courses that you can sign up. I think this model might fit you better given your professionalism and the quality of your content. Of course in order to get people interested in the course, you'd have to have more consistent contents. I think whether for patreon or private courses, more consistency is the prerequisite.

With the quality of the content that you do, you’ll make more money with YouTube than Patreon.

@RachelFilmsThings

I have scenes from several feature films / genres with the raw footage that you’re welcome to use for the $15 tier. Moody exterior narrative scenes, comedy, club scenes, a scifi, and a horror, etc.
