Canon says they have merged 7D mark III into the 90D so the direct Nikon competitor in the same range is the D500

I was going to make a joke about comparing the 90D against itself yesterday or another 90D, but then I realised that we rarely see tests that compare the same camera against itself to check variance (of camera or operator), or perhaps to check wearing out or firmware. Roger Cicala makes those comprehensive tests with 10 copies of each lens - that's outside the scope of most individuals, but I'd like to suggest an "A" vs "A" camera performance test for some time :)
