On this fitness journey I can admit... Since 2014 I’ve lived in a constant mental state of transformation. Even with all the applause and support, I still am and have always been the hardest on myself when it comes to acknowledging how far I’ve come. #STORYTIME I met a woman last night who I had the chance to speak with briefly. She is around 360lbs and desperately wanting to start her weight loss journey. She expressed she was on various medications for depression and anxiety, two of which she claimed to make her very hungry and often caused her to overeat. At 5‘11“ she wants to be back at her ‘happy weight’ of 195lbs but often feels like it’s an impossible task in her current mental state. Various times throughout the conversation she told me she would do anything to be at my size/ shape. I questioned her “Anything huh...?” She looked eagerly confused and said “YES! I’ve tried everything. I can’t do it. I know i ‘m going to be fat and unhealthy the rest of my life.” This triggered something in me so deeply. I remembered when that was my mindset. I spoke the same thing into existence so often that I believed it, even though it was far from the truth. I told her about my journey and that she could come to me for advice if she needed to, which she seemed very grateful for but she was very hesitant to believe anything could help her. As I watched her walk away, I teared up (empath probs) not only because I literally felt her pain but because speaking with her reassured me how far I’ve come through this journey, not physically but in every way possible. I don’t tell myself things like that anymore. I don’t speak negatively on my abilities to achieve anything. It’s so important that we only speak positivity in our lives. You are what you say you are and you can only do what you say you CAN. If you tell yourself (or even just carry the subconscious thought) that you will always be fat and unhealthy, your mind and body will start to believe it.

It’s crazy how certain people are put in our paths even if just for 10 minutes, to teach/ enlighten us. I encourage you to speak positivity into your life today and affirm it in yourself. If you do this every day, your life will change immensely. 💓
