The boy tells the truth and takes responsibility for his bad actions. The mom doesn't.

The mom, but not just her. Their entire family dynamic is based an avoiding responsibility and lying constantly. I know, because that's how my own is. I relate to him almost completely. I'm just not violent towards others.

I have a 15yo daughter. Because I was raised by unhappy people, lots of anger, violence. I decided I wasn't going to raise my kid the sa.e way. I am consciously aware of my emotions before talking to her and hearing her. I was really pissed off @ 15 and think about how I might have behaved if I had been treated with more kindness. I'm happy to report my daughter is a better person than I was at her age. We're far from perfect, but I consider us being blessed. The whole quarantine mess has been bearable.

The mom is snowed under and definitely needs support to change the way both she and other family members interact and communicate with him. Hes pretty old though so even if she shifts her behaviors the damage has already been done and he shows lots of pink flags for future DV and other anti-social behaviours. So unfortunately its pretty late and change in him will only happen if he chooses it and does his part.

You tell me Dr. Phil you’re supposed to be the expert. I’d say it’s bad parenting but I’m not a doctor.

90% of the time or more I side with the children. The mother is triggering him and probably has done that since he was little. Now he’s big enough to speak up. I pray I can treat my son well from the start so we can build a different bond,

Every time Dr. Phil asked the kid a difficult question, he pretty much always took responsibility without hesitation. I was expecting the mom to do the same when asked if she really did what the kid said and she didn't for the most part. She didn't really take responsibility for any of her actions like he did.

As in most conflicts, both have a part in it. There doesn't have to be a villain and a victim to get a family back on track.

Dr. Phil exploiting people while pretending to care about/ help them is the problem.

I don’t even have to watch the video to know it’s probably the mom that’s the problem. 9/10 times it is.

He's 14!! I am to if that kid talked to me like that I'd drop him. Ppl shouldn't let themselves be talked to like that especially if ur older or can do something.

If you have kids, it’s your responsibility to teach them from a young age what’s right and wrong! If you choose to let your kid to be spoiled, selfish, entitled, and lazy, just remember....YOU ENABLED IT!!!

Kids don't become the way they are on their own, parents like to play the victim role and don't like to take responsibility for their own shortcomings.

The mom lies and doesn't take responsibility for her actions and blames them on her son. At least he's taking responsibility and being more of an adult than she could ever be

After watching the video I think it's best for him to be adopted out. They're emotionally abusive and unbelievably ignorant to how their selfishness and cruel family drama has molded him into the enraged young boy he is. They dont feel sorry for him, they want to indulge in the "oh woe is me this demon child hath gone insane" and they've even disrespected his father or committed suicide. The stepfather has been in his life since he was 4 years old and admitted with a cold look that he never intended to be a father to him. The mother is trash.

You can't excuse the kid's behaviour, but it's a classic case of where parenting has gone wrong. He is either lashing out for attention, lashing out because of something at school or lashing out because he is angry with his family. There's a reason for everything when children are involved

Or maybe The bigger problem is the people willing to exploit them by putting these desperate people on national TV purely for ratings and Clicks while the whole time pretending you actually are going to do anything to help them 🤔
