Hello, I know you all join me in my deep sorrow and sincere condolences to Neil Peart's family on hearing of his passing. I have been a fan of musicians, bands, actors and famous persons that have passed away before and it was always a sad time. But this was different, very, very different... my heart ached and I balled like a child as if a close family member had suddenly and unexpectedly died. The shock was overwhelming and I am absolutely certain that I am not alone in that pain. Rush as a band along with Neil's lyrics have been a source of solace and comfort in the most trying times of my life. It's very difficult for me to accurately put in to words as it seems that I may better express myself better through imagery. My creative side has been in a bit of a holding pattern for a while but I am currently working on something that I hope would befit the legacy that "The Professor" has left behind for us. I ask for your patience while I attempt to create something I feel is worthy of his genius... (nerve-racking to say the least) as it doesn't just simply fall together. When I get it to the point where I feel it is up to HIS standards, I will post it. Fingers crossed...
R.I.P. Mr. Neil Peart, "Professor", "maestro of the skins" and a gentle genius. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for the decades of sheer joy that you gave to us all. Once again words are failing me but respect and admiration are two that leap forward. So sad
Still Kickin
