Paul Davids

Hi folks, hope you're all well :)
I've got a quick Q for you... I always try to balance the stuff I put out here on YouTube as much as possible, but what would you like to see more of?
Thanks a bunch for helping me out!

@OverlandOne

No one does it better than you Paul. I really like the riffs, analysis of licks and progressions, lessons, etc. I thank you for all of the information you so freely give out to us.

Writing and production. Millions of "how to mix" alternatives out there but there is a need for quality production and composition tutorials. You'd crush this.

@Reinonen

Riff analysis and ”riffs that people play wrong” are those were you shine the most!

@VForbes

Your playing is so clean, I want more of that clean technique.

I’d like to see you show more original music then show how you produce. I feel like so many guitarist need that nowadays to promote themselves online

Having read some other posts: Paul, I have three YouTube guitar mentors. You fill the most important space - love and understanding. I froth on everything you produce - content, learning, love and humour. What's not to like? Whoever's helping you with video is either a teacher or a guitarist. Just lovely. I'd be interested in a segment or series on chordal fill idioms, esp with reference to positioning/CAGED.

I love your outdoor videos where you play inspiring tunes. You made me learn to play the deep river blues because off one of those, thank you!

There should have been an "All of the above" option...

I said ‘something different’ because I really love the collaboration videos you do. E.g the chord/song challenge with the other 4 guitarists. And seeing when collaborators offer their take over the same backing track... that’s kinda fascinating for guitarists to watch, because you’re really seeing a ‘fingerprint’ for each unique guitarist. Awesome channel, and the people you involve are great. Humble, yet highly accomplished musicians. I learn something different every time I watch this channel

To be honest, any video you do is entertaining and well produced. Always enjoy your videos, especially the riff breakdowns. Big Love was my favourite breakdown video

I really enjoyed you talking about how you mic'd up your recordings, and your production of them afterwards, so I'd love to see more on music production, if you have any more tips and tricks up your sleeve

I really loved the videos with the challenges. Amazing compositions from different guitarists with different backgrounds. Very unique content and I still find my self coming back to rewatch these videos.

The 'personal side of Paul'? Well ... not THAT personal but how about taking us along on a gig or two? How about featuring a star pupil or two? How about interviews with your bandmates? What's your favorite venue to perform? Why? Interview with that clubber coffee shop owner on why Paul is the greatest! I remember when he was a little kid toting around a guitar every place he went. Etc. Etc. Etc. Just a few thoughts.

I love that even the most straightforward lesson has a story and a guiding thread. However simple or complex the lesson is, there’s always a takeaway for me. Thanks David!!

Tips to have a majestic beard! But all jokes aside, both music theory vids and lessons are good too! You are a good teacher tbh. Straight to the point and makes everything easier to understand. I couldn't understand the whole concept of the pentatonic scale and major scale until I watched your videos.

Big fan of just about all the content you throw up here. The collaborations are awesome, seeing the creation of a song starting from a concept all the way to a finished song is amazing. Then some days, just listening to your list of favorite riffs and what makes them your favorite hits the spot. Sorry I'm not much help, but I appreciate what you do. Rock on

I really like your general guitar lessons but ive always learned the most out of your videos when you did a general lesson and than later during the video explained the theory behind it. That way it feels more natural playing but you also learn the “behind the scenes” so you can explore and expand yourself on what you have thaught. Lots of love from a guitar player that learned a lot from you <3

I'd like to see a small series on putting a song together, the key chosen and why, the chord progression (with some embellished chords and why they were chosen, not just 4 pop chords) and some lead line ideas, and then the process in recording it.

I'd love to see more about composing and, in general, original music. I LOVED the video about turning a loop into a song.
