Last week on 08/02/2020 marked the second phase of E-locomotive trails on Konkan Railway. 3 weeks ago, the Thokur Udupi section trail run was conducted with a Erode WAP-4 locomotive. Last week, KR did another trail to ensure that the Phase 1 of electrification work (between Thokur and Udupi) was successful. Another trail was conducted this time between Thokur and Bijoor with main focus on Udupi Bijoor section. The trail was successful and now, the TOK-BIJR section electrification is complete. The trail was conducted with an Arrakonam WAP-4 locomotive. Kudos to KR for very fast and swift completion of the electrification work.. Next target for KR is the completion of electrification work in Bijoor to Kumta region and laying of poles in Kumta Karwar Goa section..
