Merrick Winter is a British-American artist and producer based in London. Originally from a small Midwestern college town, founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (The Beatles’ Guru in the late 60s), he was born into a community of spiritual seekers, to an Anglo-Irish mother and a Texan father, learning to meditate at the age of ten. After relocating to the UK, Winter went on read English Literature at King’s College London.

Raised on an early musical diet of Laurel Canyon folk and Irish trad, Winter began playing piano at age five, eventually picking up guitar in his teens. After spending a short time at Mannes School of Music in Manhattan, he began writing and producing his own music. Initially influenced almost entirely by the Beatles, he has gone on to draw songwriting inspiration from Randy Newman, Ry Cooder, Paul Simon, and Joni Mitchell.
