Ben Aylon
Defined as a border-breaking musician and percussionist, Ben is known for his contemporary Senegalese drumming, explosive burning rhythms and cutting-edge hybrid drumming techniques. In his live show ‘One Man Tribe’ Ben creates a massive tribe-of-drummers sound with his ten-piece Senegalese drum set and presents his compositions on the Xalam,
a Senegalese string instrument.
Ben's debut solo album 'Xalam' featuring West African legends Doudou Ndiaye Rose, Khaira Arby and Amy Sacko, released on World Music Network hit #5 on the Transglobal World Music Charts and #5 on the World Music Charts Europe. The album received a 5 stars 'Top of The World' review on Songlines magazine and a 4 stars review on DownBeat Magazine.
Ben's drumming and work have been acknowledged by Youssou Ndour and Doudou Ndiaye Rose, gaining national recognition in Senegal after being featured on famous Senegalese TV shows with millions of viewers, and having solo shows around the capital, Dakar.
