Proyecto Sur is a salsa band founded by bassist and music producer Jose Figueroa. The sound of Proyecto Sur is the fusion between the two music worlds that influenced Jose. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Jose was very influenced by the salsa music that he heard from his dad. By the time Jose was in high school, he fell in love with other genres such as Motown, funk, jazz, soul and gospel.

Proyecto Sur has released four salsa versions of pop hits and it’s currently working on new music. During the last few years Proyecto Sur has worked with renowned music producers such as Ceferino Cabán, Efraín Junito Davila and Ernesto Sanchez. Talented singers such as Ricky Luis and Max Rosado have also contributed their talent in its music.
