Internationally known on the microphone as the “World’s Greatest Entertainer,” Doug E. Fresh is the Creator of the Human Beatbox. His song, “La Di Da Di,” a duet with fellow hip-hop icon Slick Rick, is one of the top five most sampled songs in music history. His hit “TheShow” is also a widely sampled hip-hop classic. Nearly a dozen millennial rappers have written Doug E. Fresh tribute songs, most notably the 2009 hit “Teach Me How to Dougie,” which spawned the global “Dougie” dance craze, an ode to moves Fresh created in his native Harlem, NY in the 1980s. His career has remained impressively active for more than three decades, generating countless awards and a busy schedule averaging 200 live performances per year. On and off the road, Fresh is a lifelong activist, with a proven commitment to using his talents and resources to unite and inspire social justice.
