Swann Auction Galleries is New York's oldest continually operating specialty auction house. We started out as a rare book house and have steadily expanded over the last 75 years to include many areas of specialty, from fine art categories such as African American art, fine photographs, Modern, Post-War, and Contemporary art, and exceptional prints and drawings, as well as original artwork from your favorite illustrators seen in the Sunday funnies, the New Yorker, the pages of your favorite children's books and more, to rare books, autographs, manuscripts and ephemera, including maps and atlases, Americana and African Americana and vintage posters. In recent years we've further expanded our offerings to include sales that focus on LGBTQ+ art and history, WPA era artists, and women's history.
