Formed in 2018, Holly Kirby & The Great Outdoors were drawn together by a mutual passion for Celtic-infused folk and the reflective artistry of Sandy Denny, Suzanne Vega and Joni Mitchell.
Hailing from the Isle of Wight, Holly spent her youth writing a catalogue of emotive songs that would take her across the narrow sea to perform at acclaimed events including Wickham Festival and Bestival.
Now flanked by some of the Island’s premier musicians, Holly Kirby & The Great Outdoors enjoyed a whirlwind year, performing in London, at Rhythm Tree Festival and the Ventnor Fringe Festival to appreciative audiences young and old.
Winter 2018 saw the collective record a stripped-back album in a Victorian water tower near the banks of the Solent, earning admirers beyond their Island home.
2019 promises to be another rollercoaster year as the group prepare for the festival season via church halls, village inns and the occasional random gig in a launderette.
