It all started with a Christmas present from his older brother in 2013 - a gift card for a recording session at Lydriket studios in his home town of Bergen, Norway. The song was sent to Geir Luedy in Made Management, which immediately caught his ears. The ball started rolling for the young artist simply known as dePresno.

Although the name dePresno is from Spain, Bjarte dePresno Borthen is only 7% Spanish. When he turned four, he got his first guitar as a birthday present, and inspired by his father’s record collection containing Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, the young dePresno took the guitar to heart.

Despite his young age, DePresno’s music reflects on the big questions of life, love and people's place in society – down to the most trivial. As such, he stays within the same lyrical traditions as Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon and Tim Buckley to mention a few.
