Liars have never stood still. After forming in Los Angeles at the famed California Institute of the Arts, the band decamped to Brooklyn and released their first album, They Threw Us in a Trench and Stuck a Monument On Top (2001). The record saw them at the vanguard of the Brooklyn 00's music scene after which Liars confounded expectations and began producing works built on exploration. Groundbreaking albums such as They Were Wrong, So We Drowned [2004] co-produced with David Sitek (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and the Berlin created Drum’s Not Dead [2006] awarded #6 in Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of that year, catapulted Liars to international critical acclaim. Since then they've toured worldwide with the likes of Sonic Youth, Radiohead and Interpol and remixed or collaborated with contemporaries such as Kazu Makino, Tunde Adebimpe, Devendra Banhart, Thom Yorke, the Melvins, New Order, Moby, Grizzly Bear, Xiu Xiu, !!!, Holy Fuck, Re-Tros and many many more.
