Hindustan Trading Company has been in the business of selling stationery and fine art material for over four decades and has carved out a niche for being a guiding voice to artists and amateurs in South India.

Founded in 1948 in Parry's Corner by the late P.V. Narayanan, HTC initially started out by selling cashew nuts and then added plastic ribbons to their catalog before branching out to stationery and school supplies.

This store in Royapettah, established by his son P.N.Venketakrishnan in 1975, was originally housed next to the iconic Ajantha Hotel in Chennai, selling all kinds of gift material and school stationery.

Slowly we started to gain notoriety for being a well stocked and efficient retailer of art materials in the city, which even today remains our key focus.

Our motto is to never say NO to a customer and hence our reputaion for being one of the most dependable art stores in the city lives on today.
