This channel is dedicated to bringing relevant, creative, and unique perspectives to all types of DIY Projects, Product Testing, Remodeling & Construction Projects, Homesteading, Building Stuff and even sometimes Breaking Stuff. Part vlog and part documentary, we want to mix our own approach to these projects and hopefully help you on your own DIY adventures. You’ll see our Successes and our Failures, as we will strive to never cut anything out - we want to deliver the true DIY experience you!

One Year Later

I’ve had these Marin Boots by @bruntworkwear strapped on for a year straight.. what have I learned? 👇🏻

Build quality (materials, stitching, seams, etc) has held up very well, and I’m brutal to my shoes and boots. It’s a testament to choosing good build process and materials here.
•
Comfort hits all marks for me. Wide toe box with the removable insert (something I’d never see before to obtain a EE width), I never replaced the factory insert pad, it’s been ample, comfortable, supportive and durable. My feet no longer ache at the end of the day.

Style is on point, exactly what I was looking for although I’d love an 8” unlined 👀 .. the leather has aged well, has a great color and overall look.

At the end of the day I need boots I can rely on, because I’m going 100 mph at all times, my footwear needs to keep up and Brunt Boots can obviously do that. I hope you’ll consider them when hunting for your next pair! 🤙🏻

Quality Matters.

Through the struggles to start construction on our land the last two years, and everything we’ve went through to get where we are now.. the topic of quality has been on my mind a lot. The quality of people & relationships, our intentions, our ambitions, the words we use, the vendors we hire, and even the love and kindness we share.. it all matters and is something we should focus on. We’ve been waterlogged from all this rain which has caused delays, but are so close to having a driveway we can use to start on the house itself.. we are finally almost there.

The quality of your clothing, gear and tools you use everyday matters just the same as the above. It matters because we all deserve the best, even when feel like we do not. In the construction & maker space we might feel like we didn’t do enough or know enough to “earn” it, that tool or this brand is only for “professionals” not for me.. There’s been mountains of gatekeeping to tell you you’re not good enough, or know enough, etc but the truth is that you are only limited by your own self doubt. You deserve good quality in your life.

For as far back as I can remember, @carhartt has been my choice for good quality, comfortable clothing and gear for work. Having good quality clothing is so important, it means one less thing to worry about while I’m working hard to accomplish my goals and I’m comfortable while working knowing my gear can keep up with me on the land or the jobsite. With that said, I am incredibly honored to be apart of the #friendsofcarhartt family, and to help introduce more people to how quality gear can improve their lives. If you’ve made it this far, let me know how you feel about choosing quality first and why that’s important to you as well.
