Gender equality has gained massive attention and following over the recent past, especially with the emergence and popularity of the feminist movement. The current state of what is termed as "equality" is primarily focusing on women's issues and comparing them with men's benefits, commonly termed as "male privilege." However, gender is a complex interaction between benefits and burdens. As such, equity and equality should focus on men's and women's issues, as well as, men's and women's benefits. Mainstream media, governments, and international organization have continuously promoted this version of equality, which solves one problem by creating another.
