Les Misérables was mainly located in Bayeux, Normandy. We started an Oi band where Philippe was singing and I (Xavier) was playing bass. In 1984 our drummer, Bertrand, was enrolled in the military and we later sacked the guitarist for political disagreement. We then got in touch with Vincent, which besides being a drummer, could also provide a place to rehearse. A girlfriend of ours presented us to Gilles, our guitarist.
We played several gigs in Normandy, not sure how many, maybe 20. The most important gig we made was as support band for The Toy Dolls in Lisieux, October 17, 1987. We recorded the 7 inch in Melody Music studio in Caen in July 1987. Around the beginning of 1988, Gilles left the group. We tried with a couple of friends at the guitar, but realized we had lost a great guitarist, the main music writer towards the end of the band's short story. We couldn't find the spirit, so we split the band later in 1988.
