As our country’s future will be determined in just a few short days, next Wednesday will probably be the ultimate climax of division and chaos.

In this historic political race, someone will win and someone will lose. Only our Lord ☝️ knows the result and whatever happens, as Children of God, we are in His hands.

We, however, only have 2 jobs:
🙏 VOTE!!
🙏 PRAY!!

Regardless of who you vote for, your opinion matters when it comes to the direction of our country. 🇺🇸

I’ve heard it said that if you DON’T vote, you DON’T get to complain about the state of the world. That’s just common sense. 🥴

But I believe PRAYING goes hand-in-hand with casting our vote and we need to bring the Kingdom of God together, uniting ourselves in one loud petition directly to Jesus! 🙏

I have an app called Hallow ‪@HallowApp‬ that I’ve been using for about a year now and there’s a Series you can join called, “One Nation Under God”.
It starts next Monday, the day before the election, and continues every day until the Friday after.

I’ve also heard it said that, “You can WORRY or you can PRAY, but you can’t do BOTH!” (50 Cent said that! 😂)

This is a pivotal moment for all of us, especially, our children, our grandchildren, and even the families that come after that.

I’ve never been a political person. That was always my mom’s calling and she did her job well.

But this is no longer just about 2 candidates, 2 parties, 2 agendas, or 2 policy lines.

This is about good and evil, right and wrong, freedom and bondage. This is about bringing our country to a God-Loving age where we aren’t physically afraid of speaking the name of Jesus or worried about how many views or subscribers we lose because of doing so!

I’ll probably end up being “cancelled” for such a politically fueled post, but Jesus charged me with this little platform and I am not about to be ashamed to preach His Living Word!

"For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels".
— Luke 29:6

I will leave you with this:

We won’t always just agree with anything and everything that’s said or what goes through legislation, even when it’s coming from the person we voted for. And that’s ok because in the end, only Heaven is perfect! 😍 I just want my family to live in a peaceful world without all of the drama, violence, and insanity! 😢

So, try not to lose your peace, regardless of the outcome. Do not lose heart if the opponent prevails.

In Daniel 4:17 it says, “The Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will.”

So, let’s unite in FAITH and PRAYER to do what WE can do, and let GOD do the rest!

Have you ever been in a season of worry and dread that you just couldn’t overcome?

If you have, and you’re still here, you, my friend, experienced victory over your circumstances!

The outcome may not have been what you expected but you survived the storm, nonetheless.

While the actions we take (aka: rowing to shore) during these tumultuous seasons are very important and wisdom a priceless commodity, PRAYER must be incorporated into the steps we’re taking in pursuit of that victory.

I know the feeling of being paralyzed by my circumstances, and the confusion associated with trying to determine what to do next.

The simple truth is that we can do NOTHING without the help of Jesus and praying for wisdom and guidance will bring us to a place where discernment is not so elusive.

If you’re struggling to make a decision, preparing for a big change, worrying about how to make ends meet, how to overcome addiction for yourself or someone you love, or the many issues that I haven’t even touched on, try getting to a quiet place for as long as you need to (or for you busy mommies-for as long as you can!).

Close your eyes and imagine yourself being literally held in the arms of Jesus. He’s holding you tight, and together, He’s gently rocking you back and forth to calm and soothe you. Your head is resting on His chest as He bends His head down toward yours and quietly asks you… “What’s wrong, my child?”

Now, imagine what you would say to Him in answer to His question. Of course, He already knows what you’re going through, but your words have now become a prayer.

Now, we usually don’t have a problem with what we need to pray for, but in this moment of “Contemplative Prayer” or “Visio Divina”, as you visualize yourself having a conversation with Jesus, after you tell Him YOUR answer, (your prayer) sit and WAIT in silence, listening intently and with an open heart for HIS answer.

We’re all probably pretty comfortable with sending our prayers up, ☝️ but are we waiting patiently long enough for His answer to come down? 👇

On Thursday, my sweet crafting friend Julia ‪@TheMugLifeDIY‬ and her family lost their home and everything they owned in a horrible house fire.
Praise the Lamb that everyone, including their dog escaped with their lives!
Julia is in the hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 28% of her body and will be undergoing continuous treatment.

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 PRAYER POST 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Today we celebrate the birthday of our sweet Virgin Mary. 🙏 🎂

My own mom had a very close and intimate relationship with Our Lady so when I think of one, I can’t help but think of the other.

It’s hard to imagine that it will be 2 years in January since my mom left this earth, but in her physical absence, it seems Mama Mary has stepped in to help with the healing process.

As is with all of the mysteries of Christ, it’s hard to explain why my heart feels even closer to Jesus as I grow closer to His mother, and, as an unexpected by-product, closer to my mom and the Kingdom of Heaven, as a whole.

Being a mother, myself, gives yet another perspective of the heart of Mary, and the immense love she had for her son and the unimaginable pain she felt as the sword pierced her humble heart.

If you have an adult son, you can probably relate even more so.

May is the month that we traditionally celebrate mommies but I don’t think we can ever “over celebrate” or “over pray” for them!

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mama Mary, and thank you for being such a Grace-filled role model and shining Light in our lives and most importantly, for your “Yes!” to God in giving birth to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 🙏🙏🙏

🙏🙏🙏 PRAYER POST 🙏🙏🙏

I’m sorry for the delay of our prayer post! We were in Chicago (Joliet) celebrating our sweet Junior’s 1st birthday and baptism into the Kingdom! 🙏

This is our son, Kelsey, and his beautiful new little family. 🩷

While I am grateful for the life they are building together, inside this mommy’s heart is aching because they are so far away.

Jesus knows our every thought and, of course, He knew the juxtaposition of my emotions this weekend.

Sunday’s 2nd reading and the homily/sermon highlighted Ephesians 5.

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.”

I felt a peace in that moment, knowing that our Lord was comforting me with scripture to explain that this was the way in which my baby boy should walk and that he would not be alone.

I know there are many families out there who are struggling and have asked for prayer for their children.

My mom used to say that a parent is only as happy as their saddest child.

Today, I want to encourage you to continue praying for your child that has lost their way.

For the son or daughter who is not a believer.
The child who has fallen into the bondage of drugs and/or alcohol.
The child who suffers from depression or mental illness.
The child who has broken away from family.

Our primary responsibility as parents is to get our babies to heaven and sometimes all we can do is pray that their hearts will become flesh, and the veil will be lifted so they have eyes to see.

Even if their journey is not the one we would have hoped for or agree with, or if their “timeline” doesn’t match up with our expectations, they are in the hands of God, and their Jeremiah 29:11 may be just around the corner.

We have to keep praying and remember to KEEP THE FAITH!!

As the weather starts to slowly cool, a new school year begins and it’s time for the hustle and bustle of the back-to-school routine.

Schedules will fill and the morning chaos will resume but our hearts don’t have to follow suit.

As the “Guiding Lights” of our children’s little eyes, keeping our cool and remaining calm can sometimes be a challenge!

Like sponges, those babies are always watching and learning from WHATEVER and WHOEVER is around them and that can be a scary thought!

It’s impossible to be with them every second of every day and if we’re not in complete control of what they’re being taught, what they’re watching, or what they’re being exposed to, we can’t assume that they’ll just “be fine” WITHOUT the supernatural protection of Jesus! 🙏🙏🙏

Our prayers can cover them and our loving, but responsible leadership at home can give our littles a fighting chance as they journey onto the battlefield that is the world!

Armor them up with Jesus’s words of affirmation, and be the Light you want them to be.

My daughter designed this free printable for you to print, cut out, and slip into their lunch, backpack, or even in the book they’ve been studying for a test, just so they know you and Jesus are always with them!

In the meantime,
I’m praying for all of the parents, 🙏
the single moms and dads doing both jobs, 🙏
the grandparents having to raise their grandchildren, 🙏
the children, who no matter WHAT age, are still our babies, 🙏
and all of the teachers and administrators out there that have probably already gone back to work -(I think YOU and nursing home caregivers are the most underpaid and under appreciated employees out there!) 🙏

I hope and pray that everyone has a blessed and successful school year! 🍎

-Isaiah 5:20
I think we all knew this season was coming but, for me, it doesn’t make it any easier to watch as the evil unfolds before my very eyes. 😢
Looking for the “messages” (plural-God is a major multitasker! ) in every “mess” has always been a priority in my life and while I’m not privy to the exact view my mom has from Heaven, Jesus’s timing, His mercy, and when He brought her home is not lost on me. 🙏
The world is in utter chaos and blind confusion which is why our prayers are so important right now! 🙏
Romans 12:21 tells us to, “not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”.
One of the greatest gifts Jesus gave us was His PEACE and activating that evasive fruit can be a challenge if we are not “armored up”!
I’m sure many of us are stirring in our Spirit when we see the blatant mockery and open displays of evil showcased and even praised on virtually every screen we spend our time looking at these days.
But in order to combat this darkness, we have to BE THE LIGHT and that starts within the pages of the Word.
Open your Bibles BEFORE opening your phones. (I’m preaching to myself, too, my friends!) Pray for our families, our country, and our world BEFORE turning on the television. Pray for the lost souls on your screen because they also have a chance for conversion of heart, just like we all did and still do! ❤️
This is just a fraction of what it means to “armor up” and make no mistake, our world IS at war with evil and we are God’s soldiers of Love. ❤️
Pray fervently, pray often, pray with your whole heart, and pray for our enemies.
That’s how we honor and save the Kingdom of God!

🙏🙏🙏 PRAYER POST 🙏🙏🙏
It’s no secret that the world is in a season of darkness and division controls our country. While “Peace on Earth” seems too massive to tackle on our own, I’ve always been encouraged by the words of St. Mother Teresa who said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family “.
To me, this means that we CAN change the world if we start with what we CAN do, and let God do everything that we CAN’T.
I’ve also heard this example illustrating that we have to start small to make a large impact:
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! 🐘
Well, first of all, I don’t know anyone who wants to eat an elephant, but the principle is clear. Lol
We have to start “small” and that means starting with OURSELVES.
What’s on our “insides”?
Are we full of doom and gloom?
Are we burdened by past traumas?
Are we carrying guilt for something we’ve done?
Are we withholding forgiveness for someone (which only hurts ourselves)? Are we resentful towards someone?
Or are we trying to Be the Light by encouraging others,
praying for those in need,
loving and forgiving those who have harmed us in one way or another?
Are we gossiping or do we bow out of negative conversations?
After my mom died, of course I was in a sad place of grief and loss.
But something I also noticed is that my emojis actually revealed what my heart was feeling. There were so many crying and frownie faces and I KNEW it was time to change my attitude!
If you look at your most recently used emojis, what do you see? If there’s more sad or mad faces than happy ones, (and they’re not being used to sympathize with someone you’re texting) this could be an indication of what’s going on inside of your heart. ❤️
The Bible tells us that we can “speak” things into life and sadly, these days “speaking” is probably more synonymous with “texting”.
This is a screenshot of my emojis this morning and I know exactly who I sent the broken heart and sad faces to and finally they were NOT illustrating my own heart and Spirit!
This was a huge eye-opener for me, and I want to encourage you today to do an “examination of conscience” and inspect your insides.
Change what needs to be changed even if it means just starting with what you’re texting. Start “one bite at a time” and eventually you’ll notice the mountain you’ve conquered, now stands behind you! 🏔️

🙏🙏🙏 PRAYER POST 🙏🙏🙏
Having faith seems like something that should be easy to do for believers. But as my Grandpa Henry used to say, being able to “KEEP THE FAITH” can sometimes be more challenging. 🙏

I always end my posts on social media and email correspondence with “God is Love! ❤️ Be the Light! 💡” and Gramps’s sign-off from phone calls and goodbyes was always, “Keep the Faith”!

I didn’t really understand the importance of his words until much later in life but I think he must have learned this from his own personal experiences, and wanted to impart this wisdom to his loved ones.

Having faith and trusting in God is probably easy for all of us when we’re in a season of victory, but when it seems our prayers are not being answered in OUR time or in the WAY we want them to be, our faith can be tested.

But THIS is when our faith needs to be steadfast and an impenetrable fortress!

I want to encourage every brother and sister reading these words now, that you need to hold on! Don’t give up! Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing, that the victory is coming!

Even if it’s not the win you pictured, God’s plan is always better and you are NEVER alone!
