The American Campcraft tradition is thought to have started in 1861 with the Gunnery Camp, founded by Frederick Gunn in Washington, Connecticut

How to catch and trap animals
How to prepare a balanced menu
How to pitch and strike a tent
How to prepare a safe area for a campfire
How to protect your camp from animals, insects, and bad weather
How to leave no trace of your presence when you leave the area
A minimalist lifestyle is intentionally living with fewer possessions — focusing only on the ones you need.
