Prismatic Shapes
SONIC WAVES FOR WISTFUL HEARTS
Prismatic Shapes is a post punk, new wave project formed in January 2017 in Mexico City. It is directed by the vocalist and writer Pedro Gopar.
Conceived as "a means of expressing his fascination with the pop culture of the eighties and the era of the video cassette", his musical style has been described as "new wave retro and melancholic" by the Belgian portal SnoozeControl.
Based on crisp guitars and atmospheric synthesizers, Prismatic Shapes has developed its own eclectic style in which post-punk, shoegaze and new wave converge in an enveloping nostalgia.
