I am among other things a photographer. i photograph people mainly in candid settings, though i do sometimes like taking portraits.
taking pictures, i have come to learn, is the combination of capturing an interesting happening and framing it at the same time. there is something approaching a science or at least a systematized process involved in framing a photograph, in other words, others can more or less agree that this picture is within the correct frame or not. what is interesting is entirely subjective, or rather, it depends on the person taking the photograph. so a balance is required i found, between the subjective and the objective, between the irrational and the rational. it can be like walking a tightrope sometimes.
