My expertise involves the glutes, biomechanics, strength, and hypertrophy training. I’m most known for inventing the barbell hip thrust in 2006, but I’ve been lifting for 33 years, personal training for 28 years, and publishing research for 14 years. I own 2 gyms and train over 50 clients in person at these locations.
I’ve deadlifted 650 lbs, hip thrusted 800 lbs, published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, written 3 books, and spoken at over 70 invited international lectures. I'm the founder of Booty by Bret, BC Strength, Glute Lab, and StrongLifting. I’m still hitting PRs in my late 40s!
