Marco’s parents, Mario and Oria Rubio, came to America from Cuba in 1956. They struggled at the beginning, wondering whether they had made the right decision. But in the decades that followed, America proved to be that shining city on the hill as they worked their way into the middle class and were able to provide opportunities for their children that had previously been out of reach. They are the epitome of the American Dream.
He watched his mother work as a maid, cashier and stock clerk, and his father work as a bartender, coming home from work late at night.
Above all, he saw how their hard work transformed his family and he knew that in America, anything was possible.
As a U.S. Senator, Marco advanced commonsense, conservative ideas that address the issues Americans face. These past couple of years have challenged our country in ways we never thought possible, but Marco has met the moment to deliver results here in Florida and across the country.
