ਕਲਗੀਧਰ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਖੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਹੁਲ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਰਬ ਕਾਲ ਲਈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਧਾਰ ਲਈ ਗੁਰਮਤ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਬਖਸ਼ ਕੇ ਵੈਸਾਖੀ ਭਲੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਾਹੁਲ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਲਈ ਇੱਕੋ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਰੱਖਿਆਃ ਸੀਸ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨਾ। ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਰਨਾ, ਅਪਨੀ ਨਿਜ ਮੱਤ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਣੀ। ਇਉਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਜੋਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਭੈ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ।
ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਰੋਸਾਈ ਵੈਸਾਖੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ।

ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੋਈ ਇਹ ਲਗਭਗ ਹਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪੰਥ ਉਹਨੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਛੋਟੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਥਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਰਦਾ ਜੁਲਮੀ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਵਜੂਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਜੂਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਐਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਇਕੱਤਰਤਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਇਕਸੁਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਬਾਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਲੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਬੰਦ ਕਟਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਣਾ ਪਰਵਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰ ਗਏ।
ਅੱਜ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਏ ਪੂਰਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਲੈਕੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਇਤਫ਼ਾਕ, ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਏਕਤਾ ਲਈ ਨਿੱਜ-ਮੱਤ, ਨਿੱਜ-ਸਵਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਸਕੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਮਨਾਉਣੇ ਸਫਲ ਹਨ।
