Welcome to the Greece and Rome channel, where we explore the languages, literature, history, mythology, and philosophy of ancient Greece and Rome, as well as the etymology of the English language (its Greco-Roman roots and how they shed light on meanings otherwise inaccessible to those relying exclusively on how words are defined by the dictionary and/or used in common currency).
I earned my Ph.D. in Classical Studies from IU in 2005, taught six years at UCSB (B.A. and M.A. in Classics) and IU, then seventeen years in the Classics and Humanities Department at San Diego State University (2005-22). I "retired" in 2022, so I can devote myself to my creative work and this channel.
Enjoy!
