Northern musician Martha Hill makes alt-pop that is both hard hitting and catchy as hell.

After being tipped as one of BBC Introducing’s “ones to watch” for 2020, followed by a feature on Jools Holland, Martha Hill is one of the most exciting emerging artists coming out of the UK at the moment. Last year saw the release of her EP Summer Up North, with singles “Grilled Cheese” and “Landslide” playlisted on BBC6music, as well as “Grilled Cheese” being named BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week, and getting airtime on Radio 1.

Martha Hill left her home on the west coast of Scotland aged 17 to busk her way around Europe, before settling down in Newcastle and throwing herself into the UK music scene. Hill released her debut EP “Be Still” in October 2019, to huge support from BBC 6music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Spotify Playlists (amongst others). It’s amazing what you can achieve when you carve your own path in life.
