Philip Paar is a Dutch singer in the great tradition of vocalists like Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Tony Bennett and Mel Tormé but with his own unique sound, presentation and appearance.
He has performed in theatre concerts together with Madeline Bell, Georgie Fame and the Dutch singer Gerrie van der Klei and won several music awards, including the Conamus Award, currently the BUMA Export Award.
Philip Paar appeared in many national radio and television programs, including shows for RTL4 television and radio concerts with the combo of the pianist Cor Bakker and "The Swingmates", led by the vibraphonist Frits Landesbergen.
For the AVRO television he sang with the Dutch Metropole Orchestra conducted by Lex Jasper and with The Skymasters Big Band. At the Keytown Jazz festival in de Dutch city of Leiden, he won the Keytown award for best soloist and performed at this festival together with tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton, pianist Louis van Dijk and the Dutch Swing College Band.
