Stories and educational video series from the ICTP Scientific Digital FABrication LABoratory (scifablab.ictp.it).
In 2014, the Science Dissemination Unit at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, realized how technology could draw people into science. The SciFabLab was then created as a modern, interactive way to spread science and access to science and technology. As part of a large world-wide community of maker spaces, the ICTP SciFabLab exists to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and help bring creative ideas to life, for the benefit of all, using modern digital fabrication technologies like 3D printing, laser cutting and digital milling, and open source software and hardware, microcontrollers, robotics and so on.
