BANPAI MANOR
6:47 PM

As Akira, Eiko, Nanami, Lily and Okayo arrive at the place, the latter was astonished by the manor as they entered through the place.

Okayo: “How vintage… Looks so wealthy too…. The people living here must be rich or something!”

Nanami Kuon: “Trust me, I am amazed as you are the first time I came here.”

Reaching the doors and opening it, the five saw Masaki and Live by the door who were waiting for them.

Masaki: “About time you guys showed up. The others have already woken up tonight.”

Live: “The early bird gets the worm!”

Eiko Tsukimi: “We’re back, girls! And we’ve brought along Akira’s old friend Okayo here whom we met up with today.”

Akira: “How are you guys doing?”

Live: “Hi, everyone! Glad to see you again! And it’s nice that you’ve brought another friend with you!”

Masaki: “We’re doing just fine. I suppose you all had a great day today?”

Akira: “We sure did.”

Masaki: “Follow us inside. The others are waiting.”

Both Masaki and Live were then leading Akira, Eiko, Nanami, Okayo and Lily into the living room.

Akira: “So what’s going on tonight? We’re heading home tomorrow, and we do have to say goodbye soon, so what is it?”

Live: “We definitely have a surprise for you.”

They soon saw Ichiko, Fu, Tokage and Yuki standing together by the couch, as the others settle.

Yuki: “You must be Akira’s friend, I assume?”

Okayo: “Yes…?”

Tokage: “Pleased to meet you for the first time!”

Nanami Kuon: “So what’s the surprise, girls?”

Fu: “Hey, girls. We’re about to go stop by somewhere together, so get ready. We’ll be taking the car.”

Lily Hoshina: “To where?”

Ichiko: “You guys are going to have an opportunity to meet with Mother.”

Akira and Eiko, along with Nanami, Lily and Okayo, were surprised.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Who is Mother?”

Akira: “Strange to seem she doesn’t have a name. Is she your mother?”

The vampire Live then had an optimistic yet happy look on her face, excited for what’s to come.

Live: “Let’s just say, she’s very interested in meeting you guys!”

Akira x Eiko: The New Coven - Part 23: Where Love Has Gone

For ‪@judechannelimaginationcros8684‬, ‪@sebastianthemediagod790‬, ‪@danedmondson7604‬, ‪@Mireightpaths6403‬, ‪@NewVanguard750‬, ‪@RainbowOverdragon31‬, ‪@aidangolembiewski1225‬, ‪@SticksGazetteFan2005‬, ‪@invisibleenenra9596‬ and ‪@Josezaldivar2004‬.

(This chapter features the eighth Jimmy Van Heusen/Sammy Cahn song in the story, Where Love Has Gone, an Academy Award-nominated song originally from the 1964 movie of the same name.)

BANPAI MANOR
6:08 PM

As dusk starts to fall with the sun starting to set down and night settling in, Live had already watched woken up while Masaki was still up and about.

At that time, Live sat at the couch and drank a pack of blood while Masaki sat next to her.

Live: “Ah, how I love drinking blood… Makes a delicious snack for vampires! A good morning from the dead of night!”

Masaki: “You do drink a lot of those after all, Live… We really need to discuss more about that in the future.”

Live: “If only you’d become a vampire like us someday, Masaki-san.”

Masaki: “Yeah, I can only imagine. I wouldn’t drink as much as you do.”

Live finished drinking her pack as Masaki switched seats from the left side by sitting to her right side.

Live: “Wonder when Akira and Eiko are coming back to visit us again tonight. I think they both mentioned they’re leaving tomorrow.”

Masaki: “I’m sure they’ll come. And it seems Akira and Eiko may be in love.”

Live: “Isn’t it obvious? I feel like it’s paralleling about our relationship too, possibly in some way. I believe I love you, especially for your blood, Masaki!”

A melody plays as Live began singing with Masaki listening happily.

Live:
“There must be a place… A place where love has gone…
A bright, shiny world… Somewhere where love has gone…
Where dreams and desires… As cold as yesterday's fires…
Start to blaze anew… There must be a star gleaming in space…
That doesn't grow dim…with each last embrace…”

Enchanted by Live’s wonderful singing as well as the mellow melody, Masaki soon joins in by singing with her as Live too listened happily.

Masaki:
“They say love's gone when it goes… And I’m naive, I suppose…
Thеre may not be such a place… Thеre may not be such a star…
But still my fool of a heart… Just leads me on…
It wants to be there… There with you… Where love has gone…”

The two of them look at each other happily after Masaki finished the song. Almost as if their looks were full of love.

“Hey, lovebirds.”

The two of them looked up to see Yuki, who was standing upside down on the ceiling due to her being a vampire.

Yuki: “Live, I just got a text from Eiko saying they’ll be coming soon, but it turns out they happen to bring another friend of theirs… I also called Mother about this and she wishes for us to stop by her place so she could meet with Akira, Eiko and the others.”

The pink-haired vampire crossed her arms, listening carefully.

Live: “Another one? It must be another friend of theirs just like Nanami, so this person may also be nice. We’re still keeping our vampire identities a secret from the public, like what Mother said.”

Yuki: “They’re on their way, so I’m just letting you know, Live.”

Live: “Thanks, Shigeyuki. I knew we could count on you. Especially for our channel Mayonaka Punch.”

Yuki: “How many times do I have to say, my name is Yuki! But secondly, I’m glad to have joined, especially how my love for video games is expressed.”

Live: “We’re still surprised to this day that you’re a gamer, even after Mother destroyed your games at one point but you still managed to get new ones and play games.”

Suddenly, Tokage lunges from the room behind Yuki and embraces her while the latter was upside-down.

Tokage: “Hey, Yuki! I thought you were gonna play a few games with me!”

Yuki: “Tokage! We will, just please stop grabbing hold of me! We’ll play co-op for a bit!”

After Masaki and Live giggle happily to Tokage and Yuki’s predicament, the former turns over to Live.

Masaki: “Well, Live. Let’s get ready for tonight!”

Hikawa Shrine

As Akira, Eiko, Nanami, Okayo and Lily went over to the Hikawa Shrine together (by Okayo’s request), Nanami and Lily wait around the place for Akira and Eiko as the former talks with her old friend Okayo.

Akira had explained everything to her old friend that has happened when she joined the Legendary Liberators, including her romantic relationship with Eiko who had joined the team around the same time as her.

Okayo: “I didn’t know you joined a team a few years ago. No wonder you were absent since then. But I’m happy you’re alright, my friend.”

Akira: “Yes, and ever since I joined the Legendary Liberators, we were like a family. And after I met Eiko, we both fell in love. So, what were you doing while I was away, Okayo?”

Before she answers, Akira, Eiko and Okayo take a short walk around the temple as the latter explains.

Okayo: “In the meantime, Akira, I’ve been working as a teacher at the Shibuya Junior and Senior High School, and I also landed a job here as a shrine maiden.”

Akira: “It seems you’ve been quite busy while I was gone. Speaking of which, I’m so sorry I didn’t get to stop by and keep in touch. A lot of many things has happened while Eiko and I were part of the Legendary Liberators team.”

Okayo: “It’s alright, Akira. I’m just glad to see you again after a while.”

Akira: “We had many responsibilities to carry on our shoulders, but there are times when it’s easy, and other times it’s difficult…”

Upon saying this, Akira turned over to Eiko as the former began singing a mellow yet melancholic song.

Akira: “Call me irresponsible… Call me unreliable…
Throw in undependable too… Do my foolish alibis bore you?
Well, I’m not too clever, I just adore you…”

“Call me unpredictable… Tell me I’m impractical…
Rainbows I’m inclined to pursue…
Call me irresponsible… Yes, I’m unreliable…
But it’s undeniably true… I’m irresponsibly mad…for you…”

Finishing the slow yet short wonderful song, Eiko blushed for the samurai while Okayo was surprised.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Akira… That song was so beautiful.”

Akira: “I couldn’t help it. Heard it before, it was lovely.”

Okayo: “You really are a good singer. It’s also nice you’ve found yourself a girlfriend, Akira. Proud of you for that. So what are you guys planning to do today?”

Akira: “We’re planning to meet up with some new friends that we’ve met yesterday. Pretty peculiar, but they do live in a fancy manor.”

Okayo: “A manor, you say? How interesting! Don’t know if I met those new friends as of yet, but I’d like to meet them!”

Akira: “So does this mean you’ll come with us over to Banpai Manor, because we’d love that.”

Okayo: “Are you kidding? Of course! That actually sounds quite exciting! Gotta change, then we’ll go!”

Akira: “Sounds like a plan!”

Okayo giggled excitedly as she goes off, while Nanami and Lily went up to Akira and Eiko after waiting for a bit.

Lily Hoshina: “So how did it go?”

Akira: “Went very well. She’s my old friend.”

Nanami Kuon: “I can see that. I can also see that Okayo is a nice friend of yours.”

Eiko Tsukimi: “That’s one thing Akira and I have in common… Old friends. But we also found love in each other…”

Akira: “Yeah, that’s true. As soon as Okayo comes back, we shall go back to the manor one last time before we leave tomorrow!”

Akira x Eiko: The New Coven - Part 21: Another Old Friend

For ‪@judechannelimaginationcros8684‬, ‪@sebastianthemediagod790‬, ‪@danedmondson7604‬, ‪@Mireightpaths6403‬, ‪@NewVanguard750‬, ‪@RainbowOverdragon31‬, ‪@aidangolembiewski1225‬, ‪@SticksGazetteFan2005‬, ‪@invisibleenenra9596‬ and ‪@Josezaldivar2004‬.

(I was going to put the Jimmy Van Heusen/Sammy Cahn song I’ll Only Miss Her When I Think Of Her (once again from the 1965 Broadway musical Skyscraper) in this story, but I’ve decided it will be put in one of the future Mayonaka Punch spinoff stories set in the Legendary Liberators universe instead. A Re:Zero poster is also seen in this chapter, which may act as a foreshadow for Emilia’s future appearance in the Legendary Liberators universe, in the Fantasy Sector subseries of stories that will begin in the future, including the Mayonaka Punch spinoff stories.)

After Akira and Eiko finally part from their kiss when they finished singing Even The Nights Are Better, they resume their morning plan to go around the city for a bit before meeting up with Masaki, Live and the others again later on.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Then again, I’m really loving this vacation! We sang, we’ve met some new friends, we kissed… How can it get better?”

Akira: “The crossing’s getting busy already. We’ll go around, then head back to Banpai Manor one more time since we’re leaving early tomorrow.”

As the stoplight turns green for the hundreds of civilians to cross, Akira, Eiko, Nanami and Lily looked around, enjoying the view while trying to make sure their surroundings were not too crowded by the many civilians crossing the street.

But as soon as they make it to the other side of the crossing, Akira soon spotted a familiar girl with pink hair and wearing glasses along with a yellow kimono.

Eiko Tsukimi: “What’s wrong, Akira?”

Akira: “I think I recognize that person…”

Nanami Kuon: “Wonder who could that be this time?”

Lily Hoshina: “Here’s hoping she’s not a vampire like Live and her friends. She’s definitely not, but she does certainly look familiar to Akira…”

The pink-haired girl soon eventually notices the four of them, becoming quite surprised when she spotted Akira.

“…Akira?”

The white-haired samurai on the other hand was a bit exasperated upon seeing the pink-haired girl.

Akira: “…Okayo?!”

Eiko Tsukimi: “Wait, you two know each other?!”

Akira: “Yes. This is Okayo. She’s my old friend like how Nanami is your old friend. The two of us became friends some time before I joined the Legendary Liberators.”

While the samurai says this, Okayo rearranges her glasses as she happily smiled to Akira, Eiko and their friends.

Okayo: “It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen each other, bestie. I am honored to meet you. Seems like you have a lot to tell me about.”

Akira x Eiko: The New Coven - Part 20: Even The Nights Are Better

For ‪@judechannelimaginationcros8684‬, ‪@sebastianthemediagod790‬, ‪@danedmondson7604‬, ‪@Mireightpaths6403‬, ‪@NewVanguard750‬, ‪@RainbowOverdragon31‬, ‪@aidangolembiewski1225‬, ‪@SticksGazetteFan2005‬, ‪@invisibleenenra9596‬ and ‪@Josezaldivar2004‬.

(The song in this chapter is the only one in the story that is not by composer Jimmy Van Heusen and lyricist Sammy Cahn, that in particular being the 1982 pop song Even The Nights Are Better originally by the band Air Supply. Also hoping to finish this story before I begin Fena: Furtherance on November 6 and I’ll try not to rush through even by a lot and do my best to catch up. Several more chapters (and a few more musical songs after this chapter) are still up, so by then I hope to finish this story on a great note, otherwise I might postpone Fena: Furtherance by a day or so, but hopefully I’ll make it by then. Enjoy!)

Wander Tokyo Shibuya

Waking up the next morning despite not sleeping for long due to coming back to the hotel late at night, Akira and Eiko still go about their morning, not too exhausted but still weary after the long night.

Happy they’ve met Masaki, Live and the others yesterday, Akira and Eiko plan to go around a bit before heading over to Banpai Manor later on.

Getting out of the hotel after starting the day (with Eiko wearing a different outfit), both Akira and Eiko make their way to meet up with the latter’s friend Nanami as well as Lily.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Can’t believe we had five to six hours of sleep today…”

Akira: “Yeah, we only have about a day left in our vacation until we come back home, so we might as well make the best of it.”

At 8:58 AM, they begin to head off around Shibuya as they eventually met up with Nanami and Lily soon after, the latter who had been staying at a different hotel in the meantime.

And at around 9:34 AM, they were exploring Shibuya Crossing again as the morning continued, the sky becoming more and more daytime as time passes.

Lily Hoshina: “I don’t usually wake up this early, but thanks for having me tag along. Especially after meeting Masaki, Live and those other vampires.”

Nanami Kuon: “I might’ve gotten only a few hours of sleep too. Not sure what Live and the others’ sleep schedule is since they’re nocturnal besides Masaki.”

In the meantime, Akira and Eiko stopped as they looked at the morning sky, as well as the sunrise despite that there were some buildings blocking it.

Akira: “Would you look at that sky?”

Eiko Tsukimi: “Mornings like this are so beautiful…”

After saying this, she soon began singing another song together (which happened to be a famous one from the 80s this time).

Eiko Tsukimi:
“I… I was the lonely one… Wondering what went wrong…
Why love had gone…and left me lonely,
I… I was so confused… Feeling like I just been used…
Then you came…to me…and my loneliness left me…”

“I used to think I was tied to a heartache,
That was the heartbreak but now that I found you…
Even the nights are better… Now that we’re here together…
Even the nights are better since I found you…
Even the days are brighter… When someone you love’s beside ya…
Even the nights are better since I found you…”

While Eiko was singing this, Akira blushes as she listened to her girlfriend’s beautiful singing, before she too soon joins in as the chorus ends.

Akira:
“You… You knew just what to do… ‘Cause you have been lonely too…
And you’ve shown…me how…to ease the pain,
And you…did more than mend a broken heart…
‘Cause now you’ve made a fire start…
And I… I can see…that you feel the same way…”

After singing the next verse, Akira walks over to Eiko during the ballad as Akira wraps her arms around Eiko’s back while the latter caresses the former’s cheek while wrapping her arms around her neck.

Akira and Eiko Tsukimi:
“I never dreamed there’d be someone to hold me,
Until you told me and now that I found you…
Even the nights are better, now that we’re here together,
Even the nights are better since I found you…
Even the days are brighter, when someone you love’s beside ya,
Even the nights are better since I found you…”

By that point, Akira and Eiko danced together, pressing their foreheads lovingly. And when the song finally ends, they both had the perfect opportunity to lock lips.

Nanami and Lily watched happily as Akira and Eiko enjoying their kiss, the former happy to see her fellow singer friend fall in love with her samurai girlfriend.

Nanami Kuon: “I feel so happy for them.”

Lily Hoshina: “You think? That’s something you don’t see every day. I respect that.”

In honor of Halloween coming tomorrow, I made five new random poster edits for my upcoming Legendary Liberators universe spinoff post story Brunhilde and Goll: The Property of a Lady that will start on February 14, 2025 (Valentine’s Day), done in the style of posters from (and inspired by) classic giallo movies from the 1970s (a cinematic mystery horror genre made famous in Italy between the 60s and 80s) to tease the post story’s dark mystery theme alongside its romantic (particularly the relationship between Brunhilde and Irene in the story), adventurous and thrilling themes.

I was gonna post this tomorrow, but I happened to finish it tonight so I wanted to post it straight away to commemorate the spooky season this year.

Happy Halloween, everyone! For my friends ‪@judechannelimaginationcros8684‬, ‪@sebastianthemediagod790‬, ‪@danedmondson7604‬, ‪@Mireightpaths6403‬, ‪@NewVanguard750‬, ‪@RainbowOverdragon31‬, ‪@aidangolembiewski1225‬, ‪@SticksGazetteFan2005‬, ‪@invisibleenenra9596‬ and ‪@Josezaldivar2004‬.

Akira x Eiko: The New Coven - Part 19: All The Way

(Features the sixth Jimmy Van Heusen/Sammy Cahn song in the story, this time being an Academy Award-winning Frank Sinatra song called All The Way, originally from the 1957 musical drama The Joker Is Wild.)

BANPAI MANOR
11:57 PM

A short while after Akira, Eiko, Lily and Nanami left the manor to return to Shibuya via train, Masaki, Live, Ichiko, Fu, Tokage and Yuki go about their duties for the night as Masaki heads up to go to sleep.

Live: “Those new friends we’ve met today were very friendly. Can’t wait to see them again tomorrow!”

Live follows Masaki as they head up the second floor of the manor, where Masaki heads to her room.

Masaki: “Well, it looks like I’ll be off to bed. Gotta get some rest, you know? Good night, Live.”

Live: “Good night to you too, Masaki-san. See you in the morning. Or rather in the afternoon.”

Bidding good night to each other, Masaki goes in her room and closes the door, before Live heads off elsewhere in the manor, likely to her room for a bit.

Meanwhile in the living room, Ichiko, Fu, Tokage and Yuki were hanging out after meeting with Akira, Eiko, Lily and Nanami tonight.

Fu: “I‘ve noticed that Akira and Eiko are definitely falling in love, especially with that musical performance that Akira sang to her earlier tonight.”

Ichiko: “Not too surprised since you do make stories like The Love of the Princess and that other one we mentioned earlier. You really do love stories when they’re romantic.”

Fu: “Yeah. Hey, Tokage? Yuki?”

Tokage and Yuki: “What is it?”

When the two ask this, Tokage and Yuki had already sat down by the couch.

Fu: “Would you mind if I sing one more classical song for tonight to express my thoughts for Akira and Eiko’s romance?”

Tokage: “Why, sure. Yuki and I already established that Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen are respectively our favorite lyricist and composer.”

Yuki: “Fire away. Gonna do an endurance gaming stream soon. And you also did mention that Frank Sinatra is your favorite singer.”

Fu: “You’re not wrong. He’s one of the greatest singers that inspired me to sing after all. Okay then… Here goes nothing.”

She then took a deep breath as Ichiko, Tokage and Yuki begin listening.

The environment around Fu dims to darkness as she imagined herself in a dark void, up until a single spotlight shined on her while she was black-and-white, before she begun the song as a melody begins to be heard.

Fu: “When somebody loves you, it's no good unless he loves you…
All the way…
Happy to be near her when she needs someone to cheer her…
All the way…”
Taller than the tallest tree is… That's how it's got to feel…
Deeper than the deep blue sea is, that's how deep it goes if it's real…”

“When somebody needs you, it's no good unless he needs you…
All the way…
Through the good or lean years, and for all the in-between years…
Come what may…”

“Who knows where the road will lead them…Only a fool would say…
But if she let her love her, it's for sure she’s gonna love her…
All the way… All the way…”

After singing this, she slowly sways to the melody of the song as she is brought back to reality with her black-and-white look turning back to color. Ichiko, Tokage and Yuki were still listening to her sing at that point, but were now entranced by the performance, all while Fu was reaching the conclusion of the song.

Fu: “So if she let her love her, it's for sure she’s gonna love her…
All the way… All…the…way…!”

As Fu finished singing, Tokage, Yuki and Ichiko were left speechless but impressed by their friend’s singing. Yuki even leaned a hand on her cheek in bashful impression.

Tokage: “That was quite the showstopper there, Fu.”

Yuki: “I love it when it’s classical. Great job!”

Fu: “Thanks, guys.”

She then looked over to Ichiko, who was cups her own cheeks happily, trying not to cry joyfully from the song.

Ichiko: “Your singing was so good, Fu, it almost made me cry tears of joy just hearing it! Bet Masaki and Live-sama would do the same!”

The blue-green haired girl then smiles.

Fu: “Sure they would. Same goes for Akira and Eiko… Hope they’ll have a good rest tonight.”

Akira x Eiko: The New Coven - Part 18: Storytime

For ‪@judechannelimaginationcros8684‬, ‪@sebastianthemediagod790‬, ‪@danedmondson7604‬, ‪@Mireightpaths6403‬, ‪@NewVanguard750‬, ‪@RainbowOverdragon31‬, ‪@aidangolembiewski1225‬, ‪@SticksGazetteFan2005‬, ‪@invisibleenenra9596‬ and ‪@Josezaldivar2004‬.

(This chapter features a connection to The Love of the Princess story that was teased earlier in the Christmas Holiday II post story.)

After Akira finished her song, Fu then gets her and Eiko’s attention after sharing a wonderful moment together.

Fu: “Hey, would it be alright if I get a moment of your time?”

Akira: “Well, I don’t see why not.”

Eiko Tsukimi: “What is it you would like to talk about?”

Fu then pulls out a familiar book as she shows it to both Akira and Eiko.

Fu: “Do you guys remember this book?”

It turns out to be the same book that their friends back home have read a while back.

The Love of the Princess.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Oh, I remember that! That was such a beautiful love story! Might be on par with other romantic novels like Twilight or Romeo and Juliet! I love reading stories like that!”

Listening to the news, Ichiko then rests her arms and prepares to reveal something else.

Ichiko: “You guys may be in luck, because Fu here is the one who wrote the novel! And for the record, I helped publish it. While certainly not bestseller material, it got some decent sales globally.”

Nanami Kuon: “That sounds amazing! I myself having read that book yet, but I’d love to have a copy!”

Lily Hoshina: “Same here.”

Live: “We read it too. Aware it has familiar characters from anime, but it’s still a beautiful story.”

Akira: “Our friends from our team back home read it and seem to love it.”

Ichiko: “Weeks ago, Fu had this love story followup idea in mind from a dream she had about a soldier from the future whisked away back in time who falls in love with a beautiful princess in the past, destined for each other despite being in two different times.”

Eiko Tsukimi: “That sounds interestingly intimate.”

Fu: “I couldn’t help imagine how this story unfolds. Watched Terminator Zero a while back and I’m looking forward to seeing the new Lord of the Rings anime movie this Christmas, so I couldn’t help ship the heroines together and in turn make another love story like The Love of the Princess.”

Ichiko then closes her eyes and imagines two female figures, one being a tomboyish black-haired woman, and the other being a red-haired woman with formal wear and her hair being braided to one side, before the blonde twintail haired girl begins summarizing.

Ichiko: “The heroines Fu are mentioning in particular are Eiko and Hera. Imagine if Eiko were to go into the past, she would happen to meet the princess Hera, and like with The Love of the Princess, the two of them would of course start gradually falling for each other in more ways than one.”

Upon listening to this, Akira and Eiko were stunned.

Eiko Tsukimi: “Yeah, surprised there’s another character named after me.”

Akira: “Might feel like fanfiction, but I wouldn’t argue against the story idea.”

Ichiko: “Yeah, but what you guys don’t know, all of that could happen at this moment, somewhere in a different universe outside ours, within the multiverse. Same goes with The Love of the Princess and other stories.”

Fu: “I’d love to see that.”

Live then leaned against the table as the others but Akira and Eiko were surprised.

Live: “I think you two and the rest of us are going to have a wonderful friendship!”

Akira: “I’m pretty sure we will.”
