Hey, I’m Laurie — but on the trail, they call me Canadian Bacon. Why? Well, when I’m hiking, I’m not just round — I’m also pink and salty! I’m a 54-year-old mom, grandma, and cancer survivor, setting out to hike my heart out to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals. There are 170 member hospitals throughout North America. On average their emergency rooms see 12,000 kids PER DAY.
Join me as I tackle the trail one mile at a time, all while raising funds to help kids who need it most. Expect plenty of laughs, epic trail fails, and a whole lot of middle age, Gen X commentary. Whether I’m trudging uphill, sliding down mud (gracefully, of course), or just trying to figure out how to survive another day in the wilderness, it’s all for an amazing cause.
So settle in, hit that subscribe button and the bell notification, and follow along on my journey. Together, we’ll raise some funds, have some fun, and maybe even kick up a little inspiration along the way!
