Gilberto Campista Guarino was born in Rio de Janeiro/RJ, where he is a magistrate at his home town's Supreme Court.
He studied organ under Regina Lacerda, Alexandre Rachid and Domitila Ballesteros. Guarino is former vice-president to ICAO (Institute of Organistic Culture and Art) and ACO (Carioca Organ Association), gave many concerts in Rio de Janeiro,and attended masterclasses by M. Imbruno, L. Lohmann and the late J. Walther.
He is responsible for the South American (10/28/2008) and internet premières of Pachelbel's (Schubart's?) chorales "An Wasserflüssen Babylon" and "Kyrie, Gott Vater in Ewigkeit", published as part of the "Weimarer Orgeltabulatur" (ed. Bärenreiter). Both videos are available on this channel.
In Brazil, he was the first to call attention upon the importance of the Trost Organ at "Gotteshilfekirche", in Waltershausen, Thüringen, Deutschland.
In 2022, after a long period of retirement, due to a plethora of workload, he decided to resume playing the organ.
