Founded by drummers in Brooklyn, NY, The Beat's mission is to elevate drum culture, enhance community, and strengthen the opportunities for drummers in major cities, starting with New York. Our wide-open mindset views all beat-makers and percussionists through the same lens, regardless of percussive medium, gender, age, or cultural identification. Simply put, we believe a drummer is a drummer whether their output is jazz, rock, marching, concert, or hip-hop. We believe in the mutual support of one another, and plan to create and participate in constructive discourse among our community. We'd love your help and participation in this important mission.
