Cheryl Shantz is a pianist and composer whose works for full orchestra include "Shadow of Hope,", "The Seduction of Innocence," "Symphony No. 1 Pilgrimage," "Jimmy Sky Rhapsody," "The End of Things," and "Voices of Earth." Originally from Hamilton, Canada, Cheryl has lived and worked in a number of different countries, including the United Kingdom, Zambia, South Africa, Australia and, most recently, New Zealand where she now lives in Christchurch. Her musical style refects her interest, not only in classical music which formed the basis of her early studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, but also folk and other ethnic musical traditions that shaped her approach to composition in the course of her many travels and cultural experiences. Cheryl's orchestral works, as well as her many other smaller compositions, can all be heard on this channel.
