Palm Breeze CAFE (Convenient and Flexible Education) was started in 2005 as a web technology show for the teachers of Palm Beach County, Florida. It ran on software by Macromedia called Breeze, thus the name. Adobe has since purchased Macromedia and renamed the product Acrobat Connect Professional, but the Breeze label has lived on through the server name and through Palm Breeze CAFE.
In 2007 show expanded to the world of television and video tubes on the Internet. The weekly 30-minute show with Lee Keller and Kim Cavanaugh was shot on a news set with a laptop and a lot of wires. The success led to expansion in 2008. The show moved to a virtual set in a larger studio, expanded to a full hour, and added Lee Kolbert and Jamey Akien as co-hosts. More diverse topics were introduced and the show gathered momentum. In 2009 a permanent set was created for the current Palm Breeze CAFE. Frank Gorora and Thyme Salemme joined Palm Breeze CAFE and new topics were addressed on a regular basis.
Palm Breeze CAFE addresses three audiences: a broad television audience through the local Comcast Channel 97 and Internet audience, students of our District and teachers of our District. It is distributed on YouTube, MetaCafe, HowTo and others.
