Graduating with a degree in Geography from Monash University, Australia, I am an ex-punk rocker and one-time policeman on the Australian television series Blue Heelers. I have decided to take a gap decade to explore far flung corners of the globe and write about them. I have meandered across every continent (bar Antartica) and some 50 countries. I would like to go to every country in the world twice, so I have my work cut out for me.


Currently Im in and out of the Amazon jungle, researching my next book about shamanic tourism. I have interviewed various platitude-spouting gringos and shamanic sharks, gatecrashed religious cults, and lived with cannibal Indians. I am still searching for Elvis and currently live and work in Brazil as an English teacher.
