Rock and roll isn't a sound. It's not an attitude. It's a need, it's a fight, it's the saving grace in the wake of a broken heart or something lost.

Culminating a breakout year of playing alongside established artists such as Reignwolf, The Silent Comedy, Cancer Bats and Spindrift, Down and Outlaws recorded their debut LP, Above Snakes, in December 2014. Above Snakes is slated for release in fall 2015. In April 2015, the band released 'Lay Me Down,' the first single from the upcoming LP. The band was also featured on Last Call with Carson Daly in May.

If you ask what Down and Outlaws sound like, some may mention The Stooges or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. But at some level, such comparisons miss the point. Call these San Franciscans dirty, bluesy, rootsy; it doesn't really matter. Down and Outlaws are a rock band, pure and simple.
