Robert O’Connor has announced the release of his new single “Something Strange”, due on October 11.
The release follows Robert’s summer single “Everything You Wanted”, which went on to become his most successful track to date, with over 60,000 streams on Spotify and more than 500 playlist placements.
“Something Strange” was the final composition for the singer-songwriter’s forthcoming long-player, described by the Irish artist as “the missing puzzle piece”.
Robert says the song is “a wave of contentment”, recalling how he wrote the lyrics sitting at a rooftop pool in Barcelona last summer.
“I don’t know if it was the sun, the sea, or something else, but in that moment I felt an inner sense that I was right where I was supposed to be, in life and in love”.
That sentiment radiates through the track, with sublime synths supporting Robert’s crystalline vocal, resulting in a sophisticated slice of synth pop that leaves the listener wanting more.
