The Commonwealth Guitar Trio of Southern California includes preeminent Orange County-based guitarists Kevin Ayers, Daniel de Arakal, and Jon Minei. Since its formation in 2011 at the University of Southern California's Flora L. Thornton School of Music, the Commonwealth Guitar Trio has earned high praise for masterful performances at venues throughout Southern California, including its performance for the KUSC Sundays Live! series at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The trio has collaborated with numerous world-class guitarists, including Shingo Fujii, Scott Tennant, and William Kanengiser of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and Maestro Pepe Romero. Critical acclaim from world-renowned virtuosi and aficionados of classical music has proclaimed of the trio's music, "Beautiful!", "Phenomenal!", and "I love it!" The Commonwealth Guitar Trio draws from a wide range of musical genres and has experience transcribing everything from Frédéric Chopin to the theme from Cheers.
