Chartered Accountant.
Content Creator.

And a very dear friend โ€ช@CANEHADATTAโ€ฌ ๐ŸŒŸ

I started my own podcast very recently and uploaded the first episode with her yesterday on YouTube!

But what did we talk about?

โ€œ๐‚๐€ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž!โ€

Every CA aspirant has heard this at least once in their life. For years, aspiring CAs have been sold a dream that life begins and ends with clearing those exams. That once youโ€™re a CA, balance sheets worth crores will just magically appear on your desk.

But what happens when that dream starts feeling more like a never-ending loop of attempts after attempts?

In the latest episode of ๐‘ท๐’†๐’‘ ๐‘ป๐’‚๐’๐’Œ๐’” ๐’˜๐’Š๐’•๐’‰ ๐‘ฐ๐’”๐’‰๐’‚๐’‚๐’, I sat down with CA Neha Datta, who spent 9 years chasing the CA dream.

A CA turned entrepreneur and creator. In this episode we have covered some of the biggest questions every CA aspirant faces.

โžŸ Is CA still worth it these days?
โžŸ When is it time to quit CA if you're not making progress?
โžŸ Are alternatives like CPA, ACCA, or CMA better than CA?
โžŸ Does the number of attempts in CA really matter? Does it define your success?
โžŸ Can CA be enough, or should you look at other skills too?
โžŸ How do you cope with repeated failures in the CA journey?
โžŸ How do you handle the pressure from society and fear of failing?
โžŸ Is CA your whole life?
โžŸ What mindset shift helps if youโ€™re not passing on your first try?
If you're someone who is planning to do CA or someone who has been pouring years into CA and still doesnโ€™t know if itโ€™s worth it, this episode is for you.

2019 - I did my first office internship at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. โค๏ธ

I know how hard it is to find good internships as a college student, we try almost everything possible and still don't get the profiles we desire!

Here are top 3 ways of finding great internships that suit your profile -

1. College Fairs -

We often talk about everything else but not this. Not many colleges have fairs but the ones that have keep it open for everyone else too. I got my internship from a college fair itself.

Try them out they are a game changer. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

2. Internship Platforms -

Yes many of them are consisting of mostly BD roles but if that's the case then you're not looking at every place. There are many lesser-known platforms - Google them once and you'll find great ones.
(I frequently share them on my Instagram as well)

3. Linkedin and Cold-Networking -

This won't happen with random messages to random people asking them for roles and vacancies, it will never happen like this.

Then? ๐Ÿ’ก

Have a great resume and a top-notch Linkedin profile that's the number one priority for a decent role.
Once that's done start to engage and post which makes you more established and credible.
Then form conversations with professionals rather than asking for a job. Once you form a good connection then ask them if there are any vacancies.

I hope this list really solves the large-scale problem of college students.

Juggling family, personal goals, and a bootstrapped company at 19 was tough!

Here's what helped me the most - HARMONY

How?

Let me break it down for you โฌ‡๏ธ

1. โœ… Prioritize like a Pro: Harmony taught me to sort my priorities. Figuring out what matters in family, personal goals, and the startup helped me stay sane.

2. โœ… Chat it out: Keeping the fam, my goals, and the company team in the loop was game-changing. Clear communication became my superpower.

3. โœ… Flexibility is a flex: Harmony comes with being flexible, which helps me to navigate unexpected twists in all areas of life.

4. โœ… Me-time matters: Harmony reminded me to carve out some 'me-time', keeping my mind and body in top-notch shape.

5. โœ… Learn to Delegate: Trusting others to play their part lightened the load and brought a harmonious flow to everything.

Remember, harmony isn't about perfection.

It's about finding a balance that works for you ๐Ÿš€.

I know itโ€™s 31st!

I know some of your friends might be planning to go out tonight.
Some might have even left the city to enjoy with their families.
Some doing house parties etc!

I know some of you will compare your new year plans with them and get upset!
โ€œAghhh I canโ€™t go out!โ€

But trust me even if youโ€™re not going out tonight or tomorrow itโ€™s absolutely fine! Donโ€™t let social media influence you all the time.

Sleeping on time on 31st is okay!
Spending time with your family watching award shows or any other movie is fine!
Connecting with your friends over video calls is equally beautiful.

Love your life because itโ€™s still a dream of many โค๏ธ
