RAAF
A recent media reference referred to RAAF as a phenomenon. "A duo whose genre can’t truly be described and something totally fresh on the South African music landscape". Their audiences literally stretch across all age groups and audience members describe RAAF as a life changing music experience.
In October 2022, Lourens and Esté Raaf announced that their creativity, sound and vision as Bottomless Coffee Band has developed and that they want to "bring their career home" to craft their lifes work. What was known as "Bottomless Coffee Band" have merged to RAAF - their family name. RAAF is Afrikaans for Raven. A RAAF is the largest member of the songbird family, they are known as messengers-birds, and choose one partner for life.
With their diverse backgrounds in Rock ’n Roll, theatre and Esté's classical singing, the duo created something unique during that era of folk-driven modern-day music. Lourens & Esté Raaf operates as an active touring band, performing +150 concerts every year.
