Two years after it started, Warner Bros. Discovery has won their lawsuit against Paramount Global regarding the terms of the latter's contract with the former to allow South Park to be exclusive to Max. www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/s…
The show's Paramount+ "movies" (really 2-part specials) are indeed a violation of the aforementioned exclusivity deal.
Paramount Global tried countersuing by stating that they didn't consider the Paramount+ specials to be actual episodes. However, the Supreme Court has ultimately ruled in Warner Bros. Discovery's favor because HBO Max (now Max) was supposed to receive at least ten new episodes of South Park a year starting in 2020, but all they got during their entire time having the series were the two Pandemic Specials and the 6-episode Seasons 25 and 26, while Paramount+ received 7 of the so-called South Park "movies."
In other words, the Court has determined that both Max and Paramount+ have received 14 episodes each of South Park since the HBO Max deal for the series was approved, meaning Paramount Global indeed violated their portion of the contract they signed with Warner Bros. Discovery.
WBD has the option to either take those specials away from Paramount+ and put them on Max until the show leaves the platform, or force Paramount to give them damage payments for trying to weasel their way around the contract so that their own streaming service can have South Park content of its own.
South Park is currently scheduled to leave Max and move to Paramount+ on June 24, 2025. However, it is currently unknown whether the results of this lawsuit will cause that planned transition date to change.

Hasbro has just renewed their 40% ownership of Discovery Family to December 31, 2025. It was originally supposed to end in March.
Notably, the only series of theirs mentioned by name in the confirmation of this happening are My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop, which might be a sign that the only Hasbro franchises guaranteed to stick around on DFC are those.
All I can say for certain, though, is that it’s almost funny how Hasbro wants to keep clinging onto their stake in the channel, considering they haven’t provided anything new for it in five years.

It's been exactly a decade since Boomerang rebranded, updating its line-up in an ill-fated attempt to turn the network into a family-oriented alternative to sibling channel Cartoon Network.
Some of the shows that aired new episodes on Boomerang during the early years of the rebrand were enjoyable (including two of my choices for top underrated cartoons - Grojband and Bunnicula). I also liked the new logo and bumper aesthetic when judged purely by themselves, even if they didn't fit what the channel used to be. However, this refresh was never going to work because Boomerang isn't in even nearly as many households with cable as CN. Sure enough, after a few years of trying and failing to make the new direction for the channel work, Boomerang went back to being the cable channel for classic animation owned by Warner Bros., with the new branding and reruns of the channel's now-ended original programming inspired by their classic series (namely New Looney Tunes, The Tom & Jerry Show, and Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!) being the only current remains of the channel's initial schedule shake-up. Oh, and let's not forget the channel's streaming service launched during this era - featuring many of the shows that Boomerang was no longer actually airing - that somehow lasted seven years, four of which being after it really didn't need to exist due to the launch of Max.
I do think that Boomerang needed a rebrand after being on autopilot in terms of its feel for over 14 years, but not like this. However, while it may have been somewhat of a disaster, the channel's 2015 rebrand also made for an interesting case of failed revamps of an established. highly regarded television network. I'm glad that Boomerang is a better place now, even if the launch and subsequent evolution of MeTV Toons is starting to make the channel feel obsolete.

Sunday's featured series on the new line-up for Totally Turtles is The Legend of Korra.
Like Danny Phantom, it's been featured on that channel before, but hasn't aired there in a while.

We will see what Sunday has in store for Totally Turtles when that day comes.

With all the essential collection LINES all covered (at least until the inevitable next Collector's Choice volume comes out), I'm continuing to expand my collection of classic Looney Tunes on physical media with titles outside that range, starting with the DVD releases of the franchise's compilation films (or "paste-up features", as the self-appointed Looney Tunes Critic - Trever Thompson - refers to them as). While they ARE glorified clip shows, watching those movies via premium cable channels when I was little are also how I got officially, properly acquainted with the Looney Tunes gang in their most famous iterations, after having previously only seen Baby Looney Tunes and an unofficial VHS tape of all the color classic Warner Bros. cartoons in the public domain (thankfully minus the racist stuff) - because Cartoon Network wasn't playing the original Looney Tunes at the time. Thus, I have a soft spot for those films and thus want to collect them all on disc.
I've already owned Daffy Duck's Quackbusters (far and away the best of the bunch) for ages now, and so I've begun the process of getting the remaining four of those five movies. Why not kick this new physical media endeavor off with THE Looney Tunes Movie Collection, which tackles two of them at once - including the very first one, The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie (plus my personal favorite one that isn't Quackbusters, Bugs Bunny's 1001 Rabbit Tales)?
The specific copy of this release that I bought is a Double Feature repackaging that pairs it up with Volume 2 of the budget-priced, lighter kid-friendly alternative to the Looney Tunes Golden Collection, the Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection (which the Movie Collection is considered "Volume 3" of despite the Spotlight Collection name not being featured anywhere on its packaging, plus the fact that its primary content isn’t featured anywhere within the Golden Collection). Yes, this means I'm getting 30 double-dips of cartoons from the Golden Collection alongside the two movies exclusive to the Movie Collection. However, this bundle pack puts both titles in one keepcase, so I won't be wasting any unnecessary shelf space adding the movies to my physical media library.
I WOULD just buy the standalone release of the Looney Tunes Movie Collection, but it's a Warner Bros. title made during the same time (the mid-to-late 2000s) as all the DVDs from the aforementioned company that can go through disc rot. Although that specific title is not on the master list of WB DVD releases at risk of disc rot, I still don't want to take any chances because there are quite a few other mid-to-late 2000s Warner Bros. DVDs not on the list whose copies that other people own also rotted. I'm also aware there's a different, more budget-friendly bundle pack pairing the Looney Tunes Movie Collection with the preceding TWO volumes of the Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection, but on top of it obviously featuring even more Golden Collection double dips, that release also downgrades the number of discs for each of those three volumes from two to one, resulting in the loss of the Movie Collection's bonus features (there are no extras on the original releases of Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection: Volumes 1 and 2 beyond DVD-ROM games available on other Looney Tunes DVDs, in stark contrast to the Looney Tunes Golden Collection volumes). Thus, it's the Double Feature pack featuring reprinted Movie Collection discs that I just bought.

Gotta blast! Today’s surprise addition to Totally Turtles is Jimmy Neutron!
Like with Rocket Power before it, the last time this series was seen on Pluto TV was for the marathon of Christmas episodes that 90s Kids played back in December 2023.

Continuing to beg to be rebranded as a U.S. version of the NickToons Pluto TV channel that Canada has, Totally Turtles is getting Invader ZiM later today. This forthcoming broadcast will mark that show’s first appearance on Pluto TV in America.
