By watching the videos, you can get a taste of these marvellous works in just a few minutes.
Using extracts available on YouTube, I sum up the plot and present the main characters and what is interesting (music, drama and singing). The short versions are ideal for beginners. The long versions are for those who want to go further, and also offer some commentary and opinions that will, I hope, interest those who are already familiar with opera.
As you will realise, I am not a musicologist. I’m just an enthusiastic amateur who enjoys sharing his interest with other people.
