How I record:
I record Handheld games by using emulators with built-in AVI recorders. I use Snes9x for the Snes games, DeSmuME 0.9.6 for DS games, and VisualBoyAdvance for GBA games.
As for console games, I use Dazzle DVC 100 with Pinnacle Studio.
When it comes to rendering, I import my recorded files to Camtasia Studio 7, and go on from there.
