Three vowels and two consonants, like a suave and singing unity: the name of Awa Ly is already a harmony, a musical vocation. As a child, Awa sang by instinct, by a natural order, and did not think of making it her profession. The idea came later, when the young woman seemed promised to a brilliant career as a producer. One does not cheat one’s destiny: just as Awa, listening to her heart, had left France to settle in Rome, she did not hesitate to commit herself fully to an artistic path.
